Every second of every day, approximately a soccer pitch of global forest is felled.

The majority of that destruction is for the livestock industry or crops to feed livestock. The Western Big Meat diet requires more land to produce than a meat-free diet so every day you don’t eat meat you save approximately 4.7 m2 of global forest from being destroyed. There are a 196 m2 in a tennis court so after about 40 days (with rounding to one decimal point) you save a tennis court of forest.
